Thankful for my eyesight!

We went to visit our daughter who lives and works as a doctor in Albuquerque, NM and finally see her beautiful new home. It is beautiful, spacious and comfy, with many unique features.and I'm so happy for her and her husband, John!  (So I have my husband, John, my son John, my son-in-law John and my grandson John.  It can be confusing!)

While she was working we went on a drive out to a community called Los Poblanos. The focal point of the community is the Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm. The crop they focus on is Lavender. We got to see the field, but the harvest had already happened so it only looked like green bushes. We hoped to eat at the restaurant, but they only allow visitors for dinner and you must set your reservation in advance. The actual Inn and immediate surrounding area is restricted to only Inn guests. So, we didn't get to see much there but if you yearn for some "down" time in a beautiful setting, this might be the place for you to stay! We went in to the farm store where they sold lavender plants and, teas >>>> See them here!<<<<, soaps,lotions,candles and other things they make from the lavendar oil and condiments they use in the restaurant and that was interesting.

Then, we decided to drive around in the community and found these gorgeous $M homes in that phenomenal setting where the mountains are their backdoor view!

Twice Loved by Wanda E Brunstetter,  tells the story of two lonely hearts that find happy contentment with one another after each has lost their mates by death. It's a quick read - a book chick flick, you might say.  Twice Loved is set in 1945 after World War II (#ww2) has just ended and America is still trying to recover from the #greatdepression and the shortages brought on by the war.  Bev's husband was killed in the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 and Dan's wife had died, sadly,in 1943 with Leukemia.  The story covers 3 months - Oct thru Dec.  Bev struggles with situations beyond her control. Visiting on their street

We went visiting on their street, the poor's street, where my great Aunt Virgie lived .  I remember it as a big house  but a raw house.  No paint outside or inside, and it was very weathered with the gray dried out look, only age can bring to a wood house.  I don't know why, but I thought it was big.  I don't remember seeing any part of it but the sagging front porch and the kitchen.  There were a lot of kids running around there, in and out, slamming the front door.  Aunt Virgie and Uncle Hershal were sitting on the porch, always, when we went there. Momma and I sat down on one of the chairs there on the porch.  People used to have extra chairs out on their front porch for people to sit on whenever they stopped by. l didn't feel connected, even though they were family.  Delilah might have been the closest girl to my age, but I guess she was already thinking about marriage because I remember her ending up down the street with a family in a house of her own.  We didn'
