Save Money If You Can

Grab that link above if you need to save some money or if you ever wondered what Amazon did with those returned things.  Lots of us are needing to find some deep discounts this year as we buy presents for our family and friends and I found this and thought it might help someone out.
Right now, I'm just hoping I can end up getting our Christmas tree up and nativities out on display.  I think I have 34 now and it is always a pleasure to see each of them again.  You see, we had a plumbing leak a couple of months back and we're in the middle of recovering the house from it.  New shower replacing the tub we used to have, new commode, new sink in a lovely stone tile.  In the living room, tape and bedding redone and painted, then new carpet in living room and down the hall.
But then I think of Mary.  She went with her husband, even though she was far along in her pregnancy and rode a donkey.  I really can not imagine it!  She was quite a young lady and Joseph was quite a young man for sure!  I guess she had clean cloths and some little soft blankets packed in the bags that they surely carried, but no Luvs or Huggies, etc!  Surely Joseph helped her deliver the baby or some aged ladies who heard her cries came and helped her birth the baby and clean her and him up.  But, it was definitely so far from what we would think of just the basic necessities.  Of course in that time, life in general was much more simple and raw than what we know today. But, now, look what we think is the basics for a proper Christmas....its something to think about.

Twice Loved by Wanda E Brunstetter,  tells the story of two lonely hearts that find happy contentment with one another after each has lost their mates by death. It's a quick read - a book chick flick, you might say.  Twice Loved is set in 1945 after World War II (#ww2) has just ended and America is still trying to recover from the #greatdepression and the shortages brought on by the war.  Bev's husband was killed in the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 and Dan's wife had died, sadly,in 1943 with Leukemia.  The story covers 3 months - Oct thru Dec.  Bev struggles with situations beyond her control. Christmas Night - The Part Left Out

I've been thinking about Jesus, the Savior of the world being born to that young couple in Bethlehem.  I wonder, was Joseph by Mary's side through her labor and did he help her with the birth? I reflect back on May 27, 1974 when my first little baby was born in the hospital up on the hill in our town. I got the standard treatment:  At the beginning of a mother's hospitalization for the birth of a child she was put into a labor room. In my hospital that room was about 10'X10'.  It had a bed, a rolling table with a pitcher and a glass for water, a little one or two drawer metal chest and one chair ...and that was about it.  Mothers would spend from a few hours to 2-3 days in this little room.  Dad could stay with Mom in this room, but when the birth was near, Mom was taken to the delivery room where Dad was not allowed to go.  It was a very sterile environment and about the same size as the labor room.  There were several nurses in the room and the doctor, all go
